Gifts start with what they’d love
Giver is a free gift-finding app for iPhone and Android where friends share what they would love to get, and Giver suggests real gifts for each friend with a short reason why each one fits.

Why I built Giver
While celebrating my birthday, that I also share with one of my close friends, I found myself giving and receiving the same $50 bill. I have always found buying gifts hard and often I couldn’t find what I thought the person for whom I was buying would truly appreciate. And in that moment I realized that I'm not the only one strugglig with this problem, that moment I realized that it doesn't have to be this way and I decided to build Giver.
Most gift advice is written for “someone” rather than for the person you’re shopping for. Lists of bestsellers can’t know that your friend is deep into sourdough, already owns every coffee gadget, or can’t have anything with nuts. The person who knows all that is your friend. So I built Giver around one idea: let people write down what they’d love once, and let every friend use it.
Giver is free and in closed beta in the United States. I read every email, so if you have an idea, a question, or a gift that worked, write to me at hello@usegiver.com.
Four things we won’t change
The person receiving knows best
So Giver asks them, once, and every friend benefits every time.
A reason beats a ranking
Every pick says why it fits, so you can judge it in a second.
Private by default
Profiles are for accepted friends only. No ads, no data sales.
Honest about money
Giver earns from affiliate links and says so. Fit decides the picks, not commission.
And then there’s Biscuit
Biscuit is Giver’s mascot, an orange tabby with a periwinkle bow tie. She shows up when there’s something worth celebrating, and she’s in charge of the cat puns, so nobody else has to be.
