What is Giver?
Giver is a free gift-finding app for iPhone and Android where friends share what they would love to get, and Giver suggests real gifts for each friend with a short reason why each one fits.
Is Giver free?
Yes. Giver has no subscription, no ads and no in-app purchases. When you buy something through a shop link in Giver, the shop may pay us a small commission. Your price stays the same.
How does Giver choose gift ideas?
Giver reads your friend’s gift profile (their interests, the things they want, their style and anything they can’t have), together with the occasion, your budget and how you know them. It matches those against a catalog of real products, then an AI model picks the best five to eight and writes one or two sentences on why each one fits. Every pick is a real product with a real shop link; Giver never makes products up.
Who can see my gift profile?
Only you and the friends whose request you accept. People who search for you see your username and photo, nothing else. Giver has no public profiles.
Do my friends need to use Giver too?
It works best when they do, because then the ideas come from what they said they’d love. If someone isn’t on Giver yet, you can describe them yourself, get ideas right away, and send them an invite link. When they join, their own answers take over.
Does Giver remind me about birthdays?
Yes. When a friend request is accepted, both birthdays are added to each other’s Giver calendar with a reminder two weeks before. You can add other occasions, such as anniversaries, and choose reminders from one day to one month ahead.
When can I use Giver?
Giver is in closed beta on iPhone and Android in the United States. Join the waitlist on usegiver.com and we’ll email you an invite.
How does Giver make money?
Through affiliate commissions only. Some shops pay us a small share when you buy through a Giver link. Picks are ranked by how well they fit the person, not by how much a shop pays, and the price you pay is the same.
Does Giver sell my data?
No. We don’t sell personal data, don’t show ads and don’t use advertising trackers. Shops only learn that you came from Giver, so the commission can be credited.
What if I don’t know what someone likes?
Use Search in the app: describe them by age range, budget, occasion and a few interests, and Giver shows matching gifts. Our gift guides on usegiver.com are another place to start.
